I would like to talk about Christ's definition of being 'born again". In the Bible, Jesus is talking to Nicodemus and says that a man must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God. I do not mean to offend anyone, so by no means do I intend to do so. I know that some people believe that a man will be born again once he gets to Heaven. This is not possible, for the Bible contradicts.
"I tell you the truth, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying: 'You must be born again.' The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound but you can not tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit." John 3:5-8
Jesus made it clear in the above that a man must be born again before he enters the Kingdom of God, not when he enters it. When Jesus mentions water He is referring to baptism. He is not saying that without being baptized you cannot go to Heaven, for that would mean by ritual we enter Heaven... which is just not so. Besides, a man on his deathbed accepts Jesus and goes to Heaven without being baptized.
To be born again is what is called "Spiritual Rebirth". It is when you ask Jesus to become your savior. At that moment, you are born again.
Now let me be blunt; if you are not born again, then you will not enter Heaven for you would not be saved.
I think my next message will be about man's doctrine. I know I'll end up offending someone... but I can only tell you what is in the Bible! Watch for the daily post tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Olivia Hamel
